Opportunity to Submit Project Proposals for the Student Partners Program
The Student Partners Program (SPP) aims to establish meaningful partnerships between students and staff/faculty working on teaching and learning projects at McMaster. Since the program was established (in collaboration with the Arts & Science Program) in 2013-14, nearly 400 students from across campus have taken part, working in partnership with faculty and staff to design and develop courses and curricula, create pedagogical resources, and conduct teaching and learning research. Students become full members of project teams, and are compensated for their contributions.
We’re currently seeking submissions for projects to be included in the SPP in Fall/Winter 2019-20. See the program guidebook for further information about what kinds of projects are appropriate, and what is expected of individuals participating in the SPP. Anyone on campus (faculty/staff/student) working on a teaching and learning project that aligns with the program criteria (see pp. 3-4 of the guidebook) can submit that project for consideration. Note that students proposing projects will have to find a faculty/staff member willing to collaborate with them on the work prior to submission.
Potential projects should be submitted, using the following online form, by July 8, 2019: https://surveys.mcmaster.ca/limesurvey/index.php/927416.
The student partners program review committee will vet all project submissions, and projects appropriate to the program will be advertised to students in an open call. We also take student interest into consideration when finalizing project decisions, so you will be notified if your project has been funded after the deadline for student applications (by August 9). If you have any questions, please contact the SPP team (mi_sap@mcmaster.ca) PLEASE NOTE: THE JULY 8 PROJECT SUBMISSION DEADLINE IS FIRM. LATE SUBMISSIONS CANNOT BE CONSIDERED.
